About us

A manufacturer with a social purpose, not a campaign.

Eco-Building Solution Plus Ltd is a Nigerian company registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, founded to answer two problems at once: a country short of homes and schools, and a city drowning in plastic that nobody had a use for.

The one sentence

We make building blocks from recycled plastic, and we use them to build affordable homes and school classrooms in Nigeria.

We are an engineering business first. The plant at Ibadan is specified, costed and phased, from the collection fleet at the gate to the compression testing machine at the despatch end. The social outcomes follow from running it profitably, which is why we are a limited company and not a charity.

MissionTo make decent shelter affordable across Nigeria by manufacturing building materials from what the country already throws away.
Where we workWe build across the whole of Nigeria. Our head office is at Peace Estate, off Akala Express, Ibadan, and our first plant is at Ido, Ibadan, Oyo State, with further plants planned in other parts of the country so that blocks are made close to where they are laid and close to the waste they are made from. First classroom beneficiaries are rural schools across Oyo State.
JobsAt full capacity the plant will support 145 direct jobs, and the collection network behind it will support several hundred more livelihoods among collectors and cooperatives, most of them women and young people.
PartnershipsWe work with state governments, development finance institutions and established plastic recyclers across West and East Africa.

How we write

Plain, specific and numerate

Lead with the number, then the meaning. Say what a thing costs, how many there are and when it happens. Never claim an outcome we have not measured, and never round a figure up to make it sound better.

Blocks, not bricks. Homes, not units. Classrooms, not facilities. Recycled plastic, not eco material. Collectors, not scavengers. Affordable, not cheap.
